What a cookie is

A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies — local storage and session storage — work in the same way and are covered by this policy.

Cookies we use

Strictly necessary. These keep you signed in, keep your session secure, remember the choices you made during sign-up, and protect against fraud and abuse. The site cannot work without them, so they cannot be switched off.

Preferences. These remember your theme, your feed choices, whether you dismissed a banner, and your language. They exist only to avoid asking you the same question twice.

Performance. Aggregated, non-identifying measurements of page loading and errors, so we can find pages that are slow or broken.

Advertising. If advertising is shown to you through Google AdSense, Google may set cookies to measure and limit how often an advert is shown and to report on its performance. Google's own privacy policy explains what it collects, and you can control personalised advertising in your Google Ads settings.

What we do not do

We do not sell your data, and we do not use tracking cookies to build a profile of you for sale to third parties.

Managing cookies

Every major browser lets you view, block and delete cookies in its settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will sign you out and prevent parts of Bebo from working. Where consent is required in your country, you will be asked before non-essential cookies are set, and you can change your answer at any time from Settings.

Changes

If we add or remove a category of cookie, this page is updated and the date at the top changes.
